The Wallace and Area Museum has approximately four kilometres of trails open to visitors. In the fall of 1998 the Museum opened several short walking trails to allow visitors to experience nature without having to make a large commitment of time. During the month of June 2000, a new 3 km wilderness trail was opened for the more experienced walkers. This trail connects the Museum with the newly opened Trans Canada Trail which boarders the Museum property. The well marked new trail allows visitors to see sections of old growth forests, and experience a wide variety of plants and animals in their natural environment.
